01. Solar & Storage Live 2024: AlphaESS UK’s Successful Showcase

The AlphaESS UK team were delighted to exhibit at this year’s Solar & Storage Live 2024. Visitors from all corners of the globe were treated to another informative event, and the AlphaESS UK stand was once again a show main feature.

Held over three days, the exhibition showcased the latest innovations in renewable energy, particularly solar and battery energy storage systems. The Installer Training events, including AlphaESS UK’s Practical Installation Demo: Residential Workshop Battery Energy Storage System and Inverter Installation and Commissioning, proved very popular with visitors.

The atmosphere was buzzing with excitement as we welcomed visitors to our stand from across the UK and as far afield as France, Ireland, Holland, Barbados, and Brazil, gathering to explore both AlphaESS UK’s and the industry’s cutting-edge technologies and energy management solutions.

The event provided a significant opportunity to demonstrate our diverse range of residential and commercial energy storage products, including the Smile G3 range and EV Charger solutions. These events are also a fantastic opportunity to engage with industry peers, partners, and customers. Our stand was ideally located between two giants in the industry, Tesla and Rolls Royce, and close by were Immersa, AMCO and City Plumbing, which presented an ideal opportunity to catch up with three of our partners and discuss the industry, opportunities and how the energy landscape may transition in the next 12 – months - the conversations made for some very fascinating dialogue.

We also took the opportunity to visit Waxman Energy, another key partner of AlphaESS UK, to meet the team and it was particularly special to be with them after they won the “Wholesaler / Distributor of the year” award – congratulations to everyone at Waxman Energy.

    Our stand was busy every day during the exhibition with customers, new and old, visiting and reviewing the latest products we were showcasing, particularly the G3 range and our new Commercial and Industrial (C&I) products. Representatives from our distributor partner Rapid Renewables, and authorised installers including Heatable and Oval Renewables popped over to say hello, and, Sam Featherstone even found time to film AlphaESS UK’s Head of Technical and Product Andrew Bailey for an episode of the renewables podcast.

    We had a great presence of the AlphaESS UK team on the stand; some Solar and Storage event veterans and some newbies like Joe Riley, our Technical Support Engineer. Joe commented,

    “The show was excellent, with some fantastic conversations. It was very busy, informative and a great opportunity to connect the entire industry. As a new experience for me, I was a little nervous at first but soon got in my stride and enjoyed it. The number of customers that commented that they had heard good things about AlphaESS UK support was amazing and made me proud of the work the team are doing”

    Growing Interest in Battery Storage

    One of the most notable takeaways from the exhibition was the increased interest in battery energy storage solutions, particularly amongst solar installers.

    Many attendees at our stand mentioned that they were already installing solar panels but had yet to venture into energy storage. However, the growing need for energy security and efficiency has clearly sparked increased interest and demand for batteries. These visitors were looking for reassurance on service, support, and the overall reliability of the technology.

    As a company with a strong commitment to customer service and quality, we were able to provide the kind of reassurance they were seeking. One of the highlights of our discussions was the fact that AlphaESS UK is not only known for its product range but also for its commitment to service and support. Many visitors were pleasantly surprised to learn that we are a UK-based company with a dedicated product, technical and customer support teams, handling everything from system selection, service, and commissioning. Our customer data is also securely stored within the EU, giving customers peace of mind regarding compliance and data protection.

    We take pride in the fact that we can offer the best of both worlds: cutting-edge technology developed in China and Malaysia, combined with top-tier service from our UK team. Our combination of local support with global expertise was something that many attendees appreciated.

    A GROWING REPUTATION

    A recurring comment from many of the stand visitors, was, “We’ve heard good things about you.” This positive feedback highlights the growing reputation of AlphaESS UK in the industry. Attendees who had heard about our high-quality products and exceptional customer service were eager to visit the stand and see our solutions for themselves. It was clear from the interactions that AlphaESS UK’s focus on delivering comprehensive, reliable support is resonating with both customers and partners.

    The residential and commercial ranges of our products attracted significant attention. For residential customers, the ability to pair solar systems with efficient battery storage offers an enticing prospect of energy independence, back-up power and significant cost savings, particularly as the price of energy is once again increasing. For commercial clients, the potential for supporting their drive to net zero, cost savings and uninterrupted power supply was a major draw.

    THE CHANGING LANDSCAPE OF RENEWABLE ENERGY

    The event also provided insight into the evolving renewable energy landscape.

    As always, Solar & Storage Live attracted the industry’s major players, but it was interesting to see new entrants, particularly from China. The exhibition floor was alive with innovation, and competition was fierce. In conversations we learned the term "Frenemies" from Dave Roberts, UK Managing Director of GivEnergy – a tongue-in-cheek reference to the collaborative yet competitive relationships that exist within the sector. Companies that are rivals in the market can also be allies when it comes to promoting shared causes like advancing renewable energy standards, improving grid resilience, and policy change.

    The Future Looks Bright for AlphaESS UK

    Looking ahead, the event was a clear success for AlphaESS UK. The level of interest in our products and the positive feedback we received solidified our position as a trusted and innovative company in the energy storage sector. In fact, the experience was so positive that, before the exhibition even ended, we signed up for a larger stand for next year’s show.

    We look forward to returning in 2025 with an even bigger presence and more exciting products to showcase. The renewable energy sector is evolving rapidly, and we’re proud to be at the forefront of this movement, providing sustainable, reliable solutions for homes and businesses alike.
